What is ROUX?

Roux exists to bring new perspectives and second chances to old, overlooked and forgotten design. From an old band poster to a grandmas quilt. From an ashtray from the 60s to a scribble found in the back of a book, there is inspiration and new light to bring to art everywhere. Ever since the creation of the world, ideas are built on ideas before. Each breath an extension of Gods breath into the dust.

All ideas come from a pre existing idea. 
All design is reworked. 
All breath is borrowed.

About me

I started graphic design in high school and always had a pull toward vintage and fashion. I taught myself to sew on my great-grandmother’s machine and found my passion for making clothes.

Growing up in Memphis, there weren’t many stores worth shopping, so I turned to vintage to find the fit and quality I wanted. Roux began as a way to fill the gaps in my own closet and create the pieces I wished existed.

Vintage shaped my approach: everything I make should stand the test of time. Meant to be worn hard, repaired, and lived in. I love taking forgotten scraps and worn fabrics and giving them new life, honoring the past while building something that lasts.
