What is ROUX?

Roux exists to bring new perspectives and second chances to old, overlooked, and forgotten design. An old band poster. A grandmother's quilt. A scratched ashtray from the 1960s. A scribble in the back of a forgotten book. Inspiration is everywhere, waiting to be seen in a new light.

Ever since the creation of the world, ideas have been built on the ideas before them. Each breath is an extension of God's breath into the dust.

All ideas come from a preexisting idea. 
All design is reworked. 
All breath is borrowed. 

Everything is made from the dust.

About me

I started graphic design in high school and was always drawn to vintage, art, and fashion. I taught myself to sew on my great-grandmother's machine and found a passion for making clothes.

Growing up in Memphis, I turned to vintage to find the fit and quality I couldn't find elsewhere. Roux began as a way to create the pieces I wished existed.

Vintage shaped the way I design. Everything I make should stand the test of time—meant to be worn hard, repaired, and lived in. I find inspiration in forgotten scraps, worn fabrics, old prints, and overlooked design, honoring the past while creating something built to last.
